Martian Hymns
Hymn to the Anchorite
Set to a slow, breath-spaced cadence. Sung during twilight watches.
Verse 1
In fractured helm and frostbit vein,
you held the line in dust and strain.
Not with fire, not with might,
but presence in the endless night.
Chorus
O Anchorite, O saint of breath,
who prayed through breach and passed through death,
Let silence guide our speechless prayer,
and hold us in the thinning air.
Verse 2
Where others fled, you stood unspoken,
held the breach till bonds were broken.
You wrote not laws, you left no creed,
but gave the vow that silence needs.
